Privacy Policy for Angelus
Note: this page is temporarily hosted here on the blog and may move to a permanent URL in the future. This post will be updated with the new link if that happens.
Effective date: July 23, 2026
The short version
Angelus does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no logins, and no analytics or advertising trackers. Anything you save (favorites, settings) stays only on your device. The app works fully offline; any future network requests are for fetching content, not sending your data anywhere.
Information we collect
None. Angelus does not require you to create an account, does not ask for your name, email, location, or any other personal information, and does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software development kits (SDKs). We have no server that receives or stores information about you or your use of the app.
Information stored on your device
Some app preferences are saved locally on your phone so the app remembers your choices between sessions — for example, bookmarked or favorited prayers, notification time preferences, and text size or display settings. This information is stored only on your device using standard local app storage. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party, and it is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app.
Notifications
If you enable prayer or feast-day reminders, they are scheduled locally by your device’s operating system. No notification content or scheduling data is sent to us or to any external push notification service.
Internet connectivity
Angelus is designed to work fully offline for its core features — prayers, the Rosary, and daily saint content are bundled with the app itself. Later versions of the app may occasionally connect to the internet to download or refresh content, such as daily Mass readings or liturgical calendar updates. These requests fetch content only — they do not send any personal or device-identifying information, and no account or sign-in is involved.
Third parties
Angelus does not share data with third parties, because it does not collect any data to share. The app contains no advertising networks, analytics services, or crash-reporting tools from third parties at this time. If this ever changes in a future version, this policy will be updated first, and the change will be reflected in the app’s store listing before it takes effect.
Children’s privacy
Angelus does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13, because it does not collect information from anyone at all.
App Store & Google Play disclosures
Consistent with this policy, Angelus is listed under Apple’s App Privacy details as collecting no data, and under Google Play’s Data Safety section as sharing and collecting no user data.
Changes to this policy
If Angelus adds features that change how information is handled — for example, an optional account or sync feature in a future version — this page will be updated, and the effective date above will change accordingly. We encourage checking back periodically.
